To be honest, 3.0 came much sooner than I had anticipated. However, as they say, God's timing is always perfect. I was actually looking for a rental space earlier than planned, but I wasn't really ready to make a move until at least 2023. After spending a day visiting different studios in various parts of London, I still hadn't found a space that I could see myself being comfortable in on a daily basis, even though they were all beautiful in some way.
I was on my way back from the last studio and thought why not visit a friend near by, typical, the one time I randomly drop in, he’s not there. There’s a few studios across the industrial site, so I thought “Might as well see if there's any rooms available.". The owner, whom I had met before, told me that a studio room had just become available that same day and it sat in my budget. Without hesitation, we were in his office drawing up the paperwork.
Although the studio was a complete mess and had been neglected, it had something the others didn't - it was a blank canvas that I could make my own. Plus, it was located in an area with great memories for me. I was happy to put in the work and bring it back to life. That same night, I drew up floor plans using a free app I had downloaded and started ordering materials from Amazon like crazy. Even after three weeks, I was still building, but it was all worth it in the end. I never got around to doing a grand opening, but the positive energy and vibes were already present before the space was even completed. I'm sure parties and events will naturally follow.
